Installation / Replacement

• Requires disassembly: remove back cover, then mid-frame or internal modules to access the old flex.

• Disconnect the old flex from the SE4710 engine and the mainboard.

• Align and insert the new flex carefully into the ZIF connector(s).

• Secure the flex (some designs have adhesive / clips) so it does not move.

• After replacement, test: scan barcodes, check audio jack (if applicable), and ensure no intermittent issues.

Performance / Specification Impact

• Using a good-quality flex ensures reliable scanner performance (no data dropouts).

• A damaged or poor flex could lead to scanning failures, misreads, or no scan function.

• Since SE4710 supports fast scanning and advanced imaging (PRZM), a bad flex might degrade performance.
