• Corrosion / Dirt: Contacts may corrode or become dirty, reducing conductivity → intermittent charging.

• Physical Damage: The connector assembly (or its PCB) could crack or break if the device is dropped or mishandled.

• Misalignment: If the cradle or connector shifts, the pins may not align properly, causing sync or charge problems.

Replacement / Installation Considerations

• Replacing the sync‑charge connector typically requires opening the bottom shell of the MC3300 (or wherever the connector is mounted).

• Use ESD‑safe tools, and be careful with the contact pins — they are delicate.

• After replacement, clean the new connector’s contacts (if needed) and test with a cradle to ensure that charging and data sync both work properly.
